    Evaluating detectors on driving scenes

    Evaluation harness, experiments, and analysis

    • Built an evaluation harness with dataset mappings, ignored-region handling, paired bootstrap comparisons, and recorded run configurations.
    • Found that multi-label NMS raises YOLO26m KITTI AP by 1.60 points at 640 px and reverses its AP comparison with the NMS-free head.
    • Compared transfer across driving datasets and accuracy/latency trade-offs on an 8 GB Jetson Orin Nano.

When should a robot look again?

Capture tooling, verification, and study design

    • Built Raspberry Pi capture tooling, registration checks, an offline verification core, and synthetic tests.
    • Analyzed four targets across twelve query images at one viewpoint; adjusted the evidence checks after observing failures.
    • Designed an arrangement-separated evaluation of view selection; held-out results are still pending.

Systems engineering, customer problem-solving, and technical communication across private-cloud deployments.

    • Led customer engagements from discovery and architecture through multi-rack OpenStack, Kubernetes, and Ceph private-cloud deployments, including erasure-coded Ceph.
    • Led a multi-site MAAS bare-metal rollout, advancing sites in parallel around blockers and teaching the process through a customer working session.
    • Diagnosed failures across Linux kernels, networking, switch configuration, and applications; provided bug fixes and documented root causes.
    • Automated deployments and operations with Python, Terraform, and Bash; created CIS and DISA STIG tailoring files and mapped controls to fleet-management tools.
    • Led technical presales and tailored OpenStack and MicroCloud demonstrations; drafted statements of work and mentored new field engineers.
    • Presented product demos to Forrester and Gartner analysts; co-presented SQL Server on Ubuntu with Microsoft at PASS Data Community Summit 2024.
